Outclassed Reds put in creditable performance

FC Estrada 4 PFFC 2

Ally, 8 Octber 2007

A battling performance against top of the league FC Estrada led to a 4-2 defeat but I'd like to praise everyone's effort and determination not to let the heads go down. We took the lead early on after Neil latched onto a poor clearance from their keeper and struck the ball into the net from outside the box. They levelled soon after and scored again to take a 2-1 lead into half time.

They were a good side with composed players throughout but our defence managed in the main, to cope with their threatening attacks and we were rewarded with a goal from a free-kick by Ally. Their third and fourth came however, at a time when we were tiring slightly and with only twelve in the squad and Kieran's injured back taking its toll midway through the second half, they deserved their victory was a fair result.

We take a break next week before returning to Willesden on Monday 22nd so can everyone please confirm their availibility. Slightly concerned that only twelve turned out after weeks of big numbers so please make the effort - the team is gelling nicely and there is a very healthy competition for places.
